Mississauga 2012 Report

From Peter and Ingrid Lane, hamper party organizers:
Ingrid and her friends managed a total of 40 hampers this year with a little over 2,200 lbs of food delivered the evening of the 19th and on the 20th by Major David Allen of the Salvation Army.  All hampers, as with last year, were filled with fresh food only, no canned goods and much of the content individually wrapped.  Again, each hamper had a whole turkey (about a 16 lb bird) with cooking instructions.  We haven’t yet spoken with Major Allen since the event but will pass on comments once we do.  A lot of support from both individuals and companies in the area such as Rudolf Bakeries.  Home Depot provided all our hampers this year at no cost.  Other merchants responded generously to individual requests.  An article appeared in the Mississauga news
