9th Annual Saanich Peninsula Hamper Party – 2020

Happy December!
As usual the hamper party has snuck up on us! We are just over a week away, and we are nearing our goal of 100 hampers (well, file boxes this year) filled with healthy and delicious food (and local)!

A reminder of the details: Sunday, December 13th 1-5 pm
McTavish Academy of Art 1720 McTavish Road

If you have yet to fill out the form, and are still interested in doing so, visit: https://sites.google.com/view/pearson-hamper-party/home
At the top of the page you will see tabs for the form, as well as our list of donors and photos from previous years. If you want to see where the donations sit, scroll down to the very bottom of the home page. Items in need are bread, tea, desserts/sweets and eggs, and just a few more gift cards (in lieu of protein).

We have received nearly $2500 in cash donations (wow)! For those of you that have donated and I haven’t messaged directly – THANK YOU! We are using these donations to purchase additional items from the businesses that have donated products to the party, including Thrifty’s, Deep Cove Market, Red Barn, Michell’s Farm, and Level Ground.

We’ve been blessed with support from many other businesses as well: Bayside Marine & Diesel, Epicure, Quince Cafe, Willowtree Bread, IG Wealth Management, and Jenny’s Smoke shack. So many extra goodies going in the boxes this year!

Lastly – we always include a signed card in each hamper. We have been circulating these in advance to have people sign them. If your family would like to sign them, please send me a note with your address so we can get them to you!

Now… the usual and necessary COVID update and precautions! We are taking this very seriously and do not want to put anyone at risk. I will send one last email a few days before the event with detailed instructions, but in short, we will have a designated drop off place at the back of the building where you can place your items. Drops off will be outside, sorry, no mingling. We will have a small and spaced out group of volunteers helping to repack the bulk items and fill the boxes. If you’ve offered to help volunteer I will be sending a separate email shortly after this.

Masks are mandatory for all. Hand sanitizer will be available. Please give volunteers ample space when dropping off (although there shouldn’t be a need to be near them).
Please don’t hesitate to call or email with any questions at all.

Thank you all for making this happen in an adapted format! We are incredibly thankful for your generosity.

With gratitude, Emma, Aaron, Patricia and my super sidekicks – Gillian & Charles, Candace & Jason
